About
Crafting has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember; but, for me knitting didn’t become an interest until I was in my twenties. It began with a burst of creativity and a strong sense of nesting. I remember seeing a pattern for a baby blanket in a magazine, and I didn’t just want the blanket for my son, I wanted to make it. It was a simple pattern, so I bought the recommended yarn and needles. My friend stopped by and taught me the basics. I have been blessed to have had many experiences like this on my knitting journey, most everything I’ve learned has been because a fellow knitter has taken the time to teach me. Throughout my life I have found that the knitting community is one of the most generous with their time and always enthusiastic to share their knowledge base with others. To me, knitting is the sharing of ideas and colors and fibers and patterns. It’s creating an heirloom piece. It’s teaching the next generation a lifelong craft.
Years later, I experienced another creative burst. Inspired by the raw fibers that I was seeing in the marketplace coupled with an opportunity for endless color options, I decided to try hand dying fibers for myself. Color has always been the foundation of every project I’ve worked on. For me, color can take you back in time. It can trigger a specific memory. But it can also move you forward. I receive much of my color inspiration from nature and travel, so I began to pull from these experiences to create colors I would love to wear.
The idea of starting Bobble Brand Yarn began after quite a bit of soul searching and a long conversation with my daughter. I wanted to get back to doing more of what I loved, which is creating and sharing what I make with others.
My vision for Bobble Brand is to create beautiful colors that make you excited to start your next project and offer unique fibers that add warmth and softness to whatever you can dream up.
